Construction Lawyer (Non-Contentious) | International Law Firm | City of London An excellent opportunity has arisen for a non-contentious construction lawyer to join a top-tier, international law firm with a market-leading construction and infrastructure practice. This is a role offering access to complex, high-profile projects across the UK and globally. The Opportunity: This is a fantastic opportunity for a construction lawyer to step into a role within one of the most respected and dynamic construction law teams in the UK. The team advises public and private sector clients on major infrastructure and development schemes, with a particular emphasis on the energy and infrastructure sectors. You will be joining a collaborative, ambitious team with deep technical expertise, supported by a national and international network. The position offers the platform to build your profile, contribute strategically to key growth areas, and develop your leadership skills, all while working on headline projects that shape the built environment. Key Responsibilities: - Advising a broad client base, including major contractors, developers, funders, public bodies and global corporates. - Acting on high-value energy and infrastructure projects including renewables, transport, utilities and regeneration schemes. - Drafting and negotiating standard form and bespoke construction contracts, including NEC, FIDIC and JCT suites. - Providing commercial and strategic advice to clients across all stages of the project lifecycle. - Supporting business development initiatives and helping to grow client relationships. - Mentoring and supervising junior fee earners within the team. - Collaborating with colleagues across practice groups and jurisdictions on cross-border mandates. Candidate Requirements: - 4-7 years' PQE in non-contentious construction law. - A strong technical grounding in construction and engineering contracts, particularly within the energy and infrastructure sectors. - Familiarity with NEC and FIDIC standard forms (JCT also advantageous). - Commercial acumen, strong drafting skills, and the ability to manage complex transactional work. - Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. - A genuine interest in mentoring and team leadership. - A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for business development.
