Construction Lawyer | International Law Firm | London A leading international law firm is seeking an ambitious Construction Associate to join its market-leading team in London. This is a rare opportunity to work at the forefront of the construction and engineering sector, advising on major UK and international projects, with the chance to take on significant responsibility from day one. The Opportunity: This role offers exposure to a high calibre mix of non-contentious and contentious work, with a focus on large-scale, complex matters. You will work with a diverse client base including developers, housebuilders, property investors, contractors, sub-contractors, engineering consultancies and private clients on high-value residential projects. The team advises across the full project lifecycle from procurement and contract negotiation to dispute avoidance and resolution. You will benefit from early client contact and high levels of responsibility in a supportive, collaborative environment; opportunities to work on domestic and international mandates; and, career development through structured training, partner-led mentoring, and clear progression pathways. Key Responsibilities: - Advising clients on all aspects of project procurement, including drafting and negotiating construction contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, bonds, guarantees and related agreements. - Providing strategic advice on dispute avoidance and resolution, including adjudication, arbitration, litigation, mediation and expert determination. - Acting on high-value disputes involving delay, defects, payment issues, professional negligence, construction insolvency, fire safety and insurance-related claims. - Managing client relationships as a trusted adviser, delivering timely and commercially astute advice. - Collaborating with colleagues on large-scale, high-profile transactions and disputes. - Contributing to business development, knowledge sharing and thought leadership within the group. Candidate Requirements: - England & Wales qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 2-4 years' PQE in construction law. - Strong experience in non-contentious construction work, with some exposure to contentious matters (adjudication, arbitration, TCC litigation, mediation, expert determination). - Excellent drafting skills, commercial awareness and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. - A proactive, adaptable team player with the drive to take ownership of matters and deliver exceptional client service.
