A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Construction Lawyer to join its highly regarded London team. This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside recognised experts in the field, advising on complex, high-value projects and disputes across the UK and internationally.
The Opportunity:
You will be joining a 30+ strong, market-leading construction practice, working exclusively on construction and engineering law matters for an impressive client base, including developers, funders, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors. The team's work spans both contentious and non-contentious matters, with mandates frequently crossing multiple jurisdictions and involving high-profile international arbitrations.
From day one, you will enjoy significant client contact, involvement in major cases, and exposure to a wide variety of matters from drafting and negotiating contracts to resolving complex disputes. Key Responsibilities:
- Managing your own contentious caseload and supporting on non-contentious matters.
- Advising on dispute resolution through litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation and negotiation.
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, letters of advice, and instructing experts.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating construction and engineering contracts, building agreements, professional appointments, warranties, performance bonds and guarantees.
- Conducting due diligence on construction contracts and related documentation.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser.
Candidate Requirements:
- England & Wales qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 1-4 years' PQE in construction law.
- Experience in both contentious and non-contentious construction matters.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage your own caseload and work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Any exposure to renewables sector projects or adjudication work is advantageous.
