Commercial Associate (IT & Outsourcing) | Top 20 UK Law Firm | London An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Lawyer to join a highly regarded Commercial team, based in London. This role offers exposure to complex, high-value commercial and technology matters, alongside a genuinely supportive team and a clear pathway for career development. This is a dynamic and well-established commercial, IT and data privacy practice recognised for advising a broad spectrum of major UK and international clients. The team supports organisations across sectors including automotive, aerospace, retail, food and beverage, real estate, life sciences, financial services, healthcare, technology and telecoms. The practice operates as a standalone commercial and technology unit with its own client base and strategic business plan. While there is occasional collaboration with corporate teams, the vast majority of work is directly instructed and substantive, giving associates meaningful autonomy and the chance to cultivate their own client relationships. The Role The team is known for the breadth of its work supporting both household names and mid-market businesses on a mix of routine and strategically significant matters. You will advise on, draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial, IT and outsourcing contracts for clients in both the private and public sectors. The scope of work ranges from routine contract reviews through to substantial, multi-jurisdictional outsourcing arrangements. There will also be opportunities to work closely with data privacy specialists on related matters. Recent instructions include advising on: - Complex supply chain and customer arrangements for major global manufacturers - Property and housing management contracts for prominent real estate clients - Outsourcing of operational functions for large public sector bodies - National and international logistics agreements for household brands - First-generation IT outsourcing projects for leading consumer businesses - SaaS procurements and ERP implementation programmes - High-profile public sector infrastructure and technology transformation projects The Candidate - 1-5 PQE UK qualified (or equivalent) - Strong academic background - Experience in drafting and advising on commercial contracts - Exposure to technology, outsourcing or procurement matters - Strong technical skills and a pragmatic, commercial approach - Confidence in negotiation and the ability to assess legal and commercial risk - A genuine enthusiasm for commercial contracting and technology-driven work - The ability to build and maintain strong client relationships - A positive, adaptable and ambitious outlook The Opportunity This role offers an exceptional platform for an ambitious Associate seeking high-quality commercial and technology work with clear opportunities for progression.
