Construction Lawyer - Non-Contentious | International Law Firm | City of London
A highly regarded specialist, international law firm is seeking an experienced Construction Lawyer (Non-Contentious) to join its London office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction lawyer to build a long-term career within a partner-led, sector-focused practice that is widely recognised for its expertise in construction, engineering, and infrastructure.

The Opportunity
This role sits within a market-leading construction and projects team, advising on the full range of front-end construction and infrastructure matters. You will work closely with leading partners and clients on high-value and high-profile projects, with exposure to complex procurement strategies, innovative contracting models and international work.
The team is particularly well known for its involvement in:
- Major infrastructure and energy projects
- Complex procurement and project structuring
- PFI, PPP and long-term framework arrangements
- Industry-shaping documentation and collaborative contracting models

Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on front-end construction and engineering matters across the project lifecycle
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction and engineering documentation, including building and engineering contracts; consultants' appointments; collateral warranties and third-party rights; security documentation
- Advising on procurement routes including traditional, design and build, construction management, management contracting, partnering, alliancing, PPP, PFI and LIFT
- Advising on joint venture and alliance agreements
- Supporting clients on project variations, terminations and dispute avoidance strategies
- Advising on domestic and international projects (where applicable)
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting business development and thought leadership initiatives
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across offices and disciplines
Candidate Profile
You will be:
- An England & Wales qualified solicitor (or common law qualified equivalent) with a minimum of 5 PQE
- An experienced Non-Contentious Construction Lawyer with strong front-end construction experience
- Currently in private practice and/or an in-house construction or infrastructure role
- Technically strong with experience advising on complex construction documentation
- Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused in your advice
- Confident working directly with clients and stakeholders
- Interested in developing client relationships and, ideally, an industry profile
- Motivated to build a long-term career within a specialist construction practice
- Experience of advising on international projects is advantageous but not essential.
