Real Estate Solicitor | City of London An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Real Estate Solicitor to join a highly regarded London-based property team, specialising in site acquisition and development projects. This is a career-defining role for a solicitor looking to deepen their expertise in complex development work, working alongside leading Partners on high-profile, large-scale projects across the UK. You will play a key role in advising on the full lifecycle of development projects from initial site acquisition through to completion, gaining exposure to a broad range of sophisticated real estate matters. The team is widely recognised for its strength in real estate development, acting on transactions ranging from small-scale schemes to major regeneration projects involving thousands of units. Many deals attract industry recognition and national press coverage. Working closely with two experienced Partners, you will benefit from close mentorship, high levels of responsibility, and genuine opportunities for progression within a growing and ambitious practice. Clients include: - Residential and mixed-use developers - Institutional investors and pension funds - Build-to-rent operators - Registered providers and care sector clients You will take ownership of a varied and technically engaging caseload, including: - Advising on site acquisitions and development projects from inception to completion - Managing due diligence processes, including title review, reporting and resolving title issues - Reviewing and advising on Section 106 agreements and planning documentation - Negotiating conditional contracts, option agreements and overage arrangements - Drafting and negotiating development agreements, including those with PLC housebuilders - Handling plot sales, leases and phased disposals - Advising on infrastructure and statutory agreements relating to development sites - Managing golden brick transactions and post-completion matters - Supporting on large-scale projects, including joint ventures, regeneration schemes and portfolio transactions - Providing commercially focused advice on SDLT and VAT considerations (desirable) Candidate Profile: - Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 2-4 years' PQE in Real Estate / Commercial Property - Proven experience in site acquisition and development work - Strong technical skills across development transactions and property law - Excellent drafting, negotiation and problem-solving abilities - Confident managing multiple matters and meeting competing deadlines Experience advising registered providers or within the affordable housing sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.
