Construction Litigation Solicitor | City of London A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Construction Litigation Solicitor to join a highly regarded contentious construction team at a leading UK law firm. This role is ideal for a newly qualified to junior associate-level solicitor with a genuine interest in construction law, looking to build their career within a busy, collaborative and specialist disputes practice. You will be joining a Legal 500-ranked Construction, Engineering & Procurement team, comprising approximately 40 fee earners and recognised for its strength in complex construction disputes and building safety work. The team is known for acting on high-profile and precedent-setting litigation, including matters before the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and Technology and Construction Court (TCC). You will gain exposure to a wide range of dispute resolution methods, including: - Adjudication - Mediation and arbitration - Expert determination - TCC and tribunal proceedings A significant proportion of the work relates to large-scale residential developments, remediation projects and post-Grenfell building safety issues, placing the team at the forefront of one of the most active areas in the construction sector. Clients include major social housing providers, contractors, consultants and property investors, offering a strong mix of public and private sector work. This is an excellent platform for a junior lawyer to gain hands-on experience, early responsibility and strong mentoring, with clear opportunities for career progression and specialisation. Key Responsibilities: - Assisting with and managing contentious construction matters with appropriate supervision - Advising on construction contracts including payments, extensions of time, loss and expense, defects and warranty claims - Drafting key legal documents including witness statements, letters of claim, instructions to counsel and experts - Supporting proceedings in the Technology and Construction Court and other forums - Handling CE-File processes and court documentation - Liaising directly with clients and providing clear, practical advice - Supporting senior lawyers on complex disputes and strategic matters About You: - Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 1-2 years' PQE in contentious construction - Experience or exposure to adjudication and construction disputes - Strong academic background (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) - Excellent drafting and communication skills - Organised, proactive and able to manage competing deadlines - A team player with a commercial and client-focused mindset - Keen to develop technically and contribute to business development initiatives Why Apply? - Join a well-established, Legal 500-ranked construction disputes team - Work on complex, high-value and industry-significant matters - Gain exposure to cutting-edge building safety and remediation work - Benefit from structured supervision, training and career development - Be part of a supportive and collaborative team culture with genuine progression opportunities If you are a construction litigation solicitor looking to develop your expertise within a top-tier contentious construction practice, this is an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career in a high-quality and forward-thinking environment.
