Construction Associate (Non-Contentious) | City of London
A highly regarded, specialist law firm is seeking a talented Non-Contentious Construction Associate to join its long-established London team. You will join a specialist non-contentious construction team working closely with real estate colleagues on a broad range of development-led transactions. The role offers exposure to a wide variety of high-value and complex projects across sectors including:
- Mixed-use and urban regeneration schemes
- Office, retail, and logistics developments
- Hotels and living assets (including build-to-rent and co-living)
- Infrastructure and engineering projects
- Refurbishment and asset repositioning work
You will advise on all aspects of construction procurement and documentation, supporting clients throughout the lifecycle of their developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on a full suite of construction documents including building contracts (including JCT and bespoke forms), professional appointments, collateral warranties, bonds and guarantees
- Providing construction input on development transactions, acquisitions, disposals and financings
- Advising on procurement strategies, risk allocation and contract structuring
- Supporting funders and investors through construction due diligence and document audits
- Working closely with real estate teams to deliver seamless, commercially focused advice
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through responsive and pragmatic legal support
Candidate Profile:
- England & Wales qualified solicitor with 3-5 years' PQE in non-contentious construction
- Experience gained at a recognised City or regional firm with a strong construction or real estate practice
- Strong technical grounding across standard form and bespoke construction documentation
- Commercially astute with a proactive and collaborative approach
- Keen to take ownership of work and engage directly with clients
