Planning Solicitor | London An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a talented Planning Solicitor to join a highly regarded and growing planning team within a leading UK commercial law firm in London. This is an exciting role for a lawyer looking to develop their expertise across a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious planning matters, while working alongside recognised experts on complex, high-value projects. You will join a dynamic and expanding planning team that has seen significant recent growth, driven by major client wins and high-profile mandates across the UK. The team advises an impressive client base, including local authorities, developers, registered providers, NHS bodies, and major corporates, on all aspects of planning and development. This role offers exposure to a wide range of high-quality work, including: - Advising on planning applications and appeals - Negotiating section 106 agreements and highways agreements - Providing advice on compulsory purchase orders - Supporting on development consent orders - Advising on listed buildings and conservation areas - Handling matters relating to contaminated land and town green applications - Working on both contentious and non-contentious planning issues You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers, gaining hands-on experience and genuine responsibility from the outset. This role would suit a solicitor who is keen to build a long-term career in planning law within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: - 2-4 years' PQE with experience in planning law (public and/or private sector) - Exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters - Strong drafting, analytical and advisory skills - Confidence in client-facing situations - A commercial and pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving - Excellent organisation and time management skills - A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for business development An interest in infrastructure and development projects, particularly development consent orders, would be advantageous.
