An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented Construction Associate and Senior Associate to join the highly regarded Construction team at a well-established independent London law firm.
This is a rare chance to join a collaborative and commercially minded practice with a longstanding reputation for advising developers, contractors, consultants, funders and property clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious construction matters. The team is particularly well known for its expertise in building safety, fire remediation and cladding-related issues, alongside its wider construction and infrastructure offering.

You will work as part of a respected Construction team advising on a wide variety of high-value and complex matters across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
The role will involve exposure to both contentious and non-contentious construction work, with the opportunity to develop a broad and commercially focused practice. You will work closely with colleagues across real estate, corporate, tax and dispute resolution teams to deliver coordinated advice to a diverse client base.
This position would suit a technically strong and commercially aware construction lawyer looking for high-quality work, greater client exposure and a supportive environment in which to progress their career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and negotiating a range of construction documentation, including building contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, guarantees and bonds
- Advising developers, contractors, consultants and funders on complex construction and infrastructure projects
- Supporting clients on procurement strategy and risk allocation matters
- Advising on building safety, fire safety and cladding remediation issues, including matters arising under the Building Safety Act 2022
- Assisting clients involved in Building Safety Fund and Cladding Safety Scheme projects
- Advising resident management companies (RMCs), right-to-manage companies (RTMs), developers and consultants on remediation projects and related agreements
- Managing contentious construction matters including adjudication, arbitration, mediation and litigation proceedings
- Working proactively with clients to identify and mitigate project risk at an early stage
- Supporting business development initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships
Candidate Requirements:
- England & Wales qualified solicitor with between 2-7 years' PQE
- Strong experience in construction law, whether contentious, non-contentious or a mix of both
- Experience gained at a recognised regional, City or national law firm
- Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Commercially minded with strong client relationship abilities
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines
