SENIOR CONSTRUCTION SOLICITOR (NON-CONTENTIOUS) | LONDON An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor to join a highly regarded national law firm with a market-leading reputation across the healthcare, infrastructure, local government, housing and emergency services sectors. This is a fantastic role for a commercially minded construction lawyer seeking high-quality work, genuine career progression and the opportunity to advise on some of the UK's most significant public sector projects and infrastructure programmes. The Opportunity: You will join a well-established Construction and Projects team that advises clients throughout the entire lifecycle of major projects from procurement, project structuring and contract negotiation through to operational matters, contract management, termination and expiry. The team acts for a diverse client base across both the public and private sectors and is particularly recognised for its expertise in healthcare, social housing, local government and emergency services projects. Current instructions include advising on nationally significant infrastructure schemes, major PFI projects and programmes connected to the NHS New Hospital Programme. This position offers an excellent platform for a senior lawyer who enjoys working closely with clients, taking ownership of complex matters and playing an active role in business development and practice growth. Key Responsibilities: - Advising public and private sector clients on a broad range of non-contentious construction and projects matters. - Drafting, negotiating and advising on construction and project documentation. - Advising on NEC and JCT contracts across a variety of sectors. - Supporting clients on procurement, infrastructure and development projects. - Advising on project structuring, operational matters and contract management issues. - Providing strategic and commercially focused legal advice throughout the project lifecycle. - Managing your own caseload of complex construction and projects work. - Building and developing strong client relationships. - Supporting business development initiatives and identifying opportunities to grow existing client relationships. - Raising your profile within the market through networking and sector engagement activities. Candidate Requirements: - At least 3 years PQE - Proven experience drafting, negotiating and advising on NEC and JCT contract documentation. - Experience of infrastructure, projects or PFI work, although this is not essential. - Strong technical drafting and negotiation skills. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. - Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem solving. - Strong organisational and time management skills. - The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. - An interest in business development and building a long-term practice.
