Construction Lawyer (Contentious) | London Are you an experienced Contentious Construction Solicitor looking to join one of the UK's leading construction disputes teams? This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented contentious construction lawyer to become part of a highly regarded national practice that is consistently instructed on some of the UK's largest, most technically challenging and highest-profile construction and engineering disputes. Working alongside recognised leaders in the field, you'll advise an impressive client base on complex domestic and international matters while continuing to develop your own profile within the market. Whether your experience has been gained at a leading regional, national or international firm, this role offers genuine exposure to market-leading work, excellent career progression and a collaborative team culture. Joining a specialist Construction Disputes team, you'll advise a broad range of clients including developers, contractors, funders, public sector bodies, pension funds, investors, consultants and major corporate organisations on high-value construction and engineering disputes. The team acts across a diverse range of sectors including: - Construction - Infrastructure - Energy - Transport (Road & Rail) - Water - Oil & Gas - Natural Resources - Defence & Aerospace - Life Sciences - Building Safety You'll work on complex litigation, adjudications, arbitrations and other forms of dispute resolution, frequently collaborating with colleagues across multiple practice areas and international jurisdictions. This is an opportunity to be involved in major, business-critical disputes, including matters relating to: - High-value delay and disruption claims - Defective design and construction disputes - International arbitration - Building Safety Act claims - Professional negligence matters - Infrastructure and energy projects - NEC and bespoke construction contracts - Complex engineering disputes - Insurance-related construction claims The team's work regularly involves landmark cases and nationally significant infrastructure projects, providing exceptional exposure for ambitious construction disputes lawyers. Applications are welcomed from solicitors with: - A minimum of 4 years' PQE in contentious construction or construction dispute resolution - Strong experience advising on complex construction and engineering disputes - Excellent drafting, analytical and negotiation skills - A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem solving - Strong client relationship and communication skills - The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure - A collaborative approach and genuine enthusiasm for business development and team working Experience advising on Building Safety Act matters and/or insurance-related construction claims would be advantageous, although neither is essential.
