Construction Lawyer | London
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Non-Contentious Construction Associate or Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to join one of the UK's leading national construction teams.
This is an excellent role for a construction lawyer looking to work on some of the country's most significant infrastructure, regeneration and development projects while enjoying genuine opportunities for career progression within a growing and highly regarded practice.

You'll join a nationally recognised Construction team that advises an outstanding client base across both the public and private sectors. Ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, the team is widely recognised for its expertise in complex, high-value transactional construction work.
Working alongside recognised construction specialists, you'll advise on nationally significant projects spanning Healthcare and NHS developments, Large-scale residential and Build to Rent schemes, Higher education projects, Local authority regeneration, Highways and infrastructure, Government capital programmes, Leisure developments, Commercial and mixed-use developments, Energy and resource management projects.
The team regularly acts for developers, contractors, public sector bodies, funders, universities and major commercial organisations across the UK.
This is a broad and varied non-contentious construction role with responsibility for advising on complex development and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on construction and engineering contracts
- Advising on JCT, NEC and bespoke construction documentation
- Preparing and negotiating professional appointments, collateral warranties, performance bonds and parent company guarantees
- Advising clients on contractual risk allocation and delivering commercially focused solutions
- Supporting major development, infrastructure and regeneration projects
- Working closely with funders, project teams, in-house legal counsel and external stakeholders
- Managing transactions efficiently from instruction through to completion
- Keeping up to date with developments in construction law and contributing to client training, know-how and thought leadership
- Building and strengthening long-term client relationships
- Supporting business development initiatives and helping to grow the practice
Applications are welcomed from qualified solicitors with 5+ years' PQE gained within a recognised construction practice. You will ideally have:
- Strong experience advising on non-contentious construction matters
- Excellent knowledge of JCT, NEC and other standard form construction contracts
- Experience drafting and negotiating bespoke construction agreements
- Familiarity with collateral warranties, guarantees, bonds and wider project documentation
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- Confidence managing matters and maintaining strong client relationships
- The ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing national team
- An interest in business development and developing your own professional profile within the construction sector
Candidates with experience advising public sector clients, developers, contractors or major infrastructure projects will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.
