Real Estate Lawyer | Top 50 UK Law Firm | City of London Our client is seeking an ambitious Associate or Senior Associate to join its expanding Commercial Real Estate team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a strong grounding in commercial property who is looking to broaden their experience, take greater ownership of transactions and build long-term client relationships. You will join a collaborative and entrepreneurial team advising a sophisticated client base that includes private property companies, consortiums and investment funds. The work is varied, high quality and commercially significant, with exposure to complex commercial and mixed-use property projects from acquisition through to disposal. Importantly, the role also offers the opportunity to develop your real estate finance experience, working on transactions where property expertise intersects with funding structures, security arrangements and wider financing considerations. Working as part of dedicated client teams, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of real estate matters. Your responsibilities will include: - Advising on a wide range of commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, development and mixed-use projects - Handling landlord and tenant matters, due diligence and reporting - Taking responsibility for key workstreams on large-scale and high-value transactions - Supporting partners and senior lawyers on complex matters while developing increasing autonomy - Leading transactions where appropriate, with suitable training and supervision - Acting as a day-to-day contact for clients and providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice - Working closely with client protocols, processes and reporting requirements - Managing matters effectively, including file opening, conflicts, financial management, billing and client-specific requirements - Supporting knowledge sharing, training, client seminars, business development and client relationship initiatives - Supervising and supporting more junior members of the team - Maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, quality and client service Candidate requirements: - A minimum of 5 years PQE - Strong experience in commercial property law, ideally gained within a national or leading regional law firm - Experience across commercial property acquisitions and disposals, landlord & tenant, due diligence and reporting - Strong technical legal skills and the ability to work through complex issues pragmatically - Experience supervising or supporting junior lawyers - Strong client care, relationship management and communication skills - An interest in, or experience of, business development and client marketing - Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines - Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work Experience of real estate finance would be particularly attractive, although the opportunity may also suit a strong commercial property lawyer looking to develop this aspect of their practice.
