Commercial Lawyer | International Law Firm | City of London A leading international law firm is looking to appoint an Associate or Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Commercial and Strategic Contracts team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded solicitor with a strong grounding in contract law, commercial contracts and strategic outsourcing to join a sophisticated national practice advising major private and public sector organisations on high-value, business-critical arrangements. The role offers an attractive mix of complex strategic transactions, day-to-day commercial advisory work and multinational projects, together with genuine opportunities to develop your client relationships, business development skills and wider commercial expertise. The Commercial practice operates across four specialist areas: Strategic Contracts, Technology, Intellectual Property and Data Privacy, allowing lawyers to work collaboratively across disciplines and access specialist expertise where required. The Strategic Contracts team advises clients ranging from local and national businesses through to major international organisations. Its work spans large-scale outsourcing projects, strategic supply chain arrangements, commercial contracts and business-as-usual matters. The team has particular expertise in complex outsourcing and supply chain work, including significant mandates for major organisations in sectors such as aerospace and automotive. Key Responsibilities: - Advising clients on a broad range of commercial and strategic contracts, from standard form and business-as-usual agreements through to complex, high-value and long-term arrangements. - Supporting and leading on outsourcing and strategic supply chain contracts, including large-scale and multinational projects. - Advising private and public sector clients across a diverse range of industries, including transport, utilities, industrial engineering, aerospace and automotive. - Providing commercial legal support to transactions led by corporate and real estate teams. - Identifying and addressing the key legal, commercial and operational risks associated with clients' contractual arrangements. - Working closely with specialist lawyers where matters require additional expertise, including areas such as TUPE, data protection and competition law. - Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted source of practical, commercially focused legal advice. - Working collaboratively with colleagues across different practice areas, offices and international jurisdictions. - Contributing to business development initiatives, including client briefings, articles, training and other thought leadership. - Supporting junior members of the team and sharing knowledge and experience. We are interested in hearing from UK-qualified solicitors with approximately 2-6 years' PQE who have developed a strong foundation in contract law within private practice. You will ideally have: - Solid experience of commercial contracts and contract law. - Experience across a range of different contractual arrangements, ideally including outsourcing, strategic contracts or complex supply chain agreements. - Strong technical legal and drafting skills, together with excellent attention to detail. - A clear understanding of the commercial and operational considerations that underpin contractual negotiations. - An awareness of when specialist input may be required, for example in relation to TUPE, data protection, competition law or other regulatory considerations. - Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills. - Experience using precedents and external legal research resources. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients across different sectors and jurisdictions. - The ability to manage multiple transactions and competing client demands, often against tight deadlines. - A proactive, collaborative and client-focused approach. - A genuine interest in business development, networking and building long-term client relationships. If you are a Commercial Contracts Solicitor, Commercial Lawyer, Strategic Contracts Lawyer or Outsourcing Solicitor with 2-6 PQE and are considering your next career move, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading practice and take your commercial career to the next level.
