Construction Disputes Lawyer | Top 25 UK Law Firm | City of London
This is an opportunity for an ambitious contentious construction solicitor to work on complex, high-value matters for a sophisticated client base, while developing their technical expertise, client relationships and market profile within an established specialist team.
You will be involved in a broad range of construction and infrastructure disputes and advisory matters, with exposure to some of the most significant development, remediation, energy and infrastructure projects in the UK.
The team acts for a diverse range of clients across the construction and engineering sectors, including:
- Developers, contractors and sub-contractors
- Consultants and material manufacturers
- Insurers and other industry professionals
- Investors, banks and financial institutions
- Public authorities and higher education bodies
- Funding and letting entities
- Energy providers
You will advise clients across the full lifecycle of construction and engineering projects, with a particular focus on contentious matters and dispute resolution, which will include:
- Advising on construction claims relating to delay, disruption, loss and expense, cost and defects.
- Acting on building safety and building remediation claims.
- Managing and advising on adjudications, arbitrations, mediations and Technology and Construction Court (TCC) litigation.
- Providing strategic advice on dispute avoidance, risk management and resolution.
- Supporting clients through complex construction and infrastructure disputes from initial advice through to resolution.
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider firm on multidisciplinary projects and transactions.
- Developing strong client relationships and providing clear, commercially focused advice.
- Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Construction & Engineering practice.
You will ideally have:
- Solid experience in contentious construction law, gained within a leading private practice or relevant in-house environment.
- Experience of building safety claims and/or building remediation matters.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction and engineering disputes.
- Experience with one or more of adjudication, arbitration, mediation and TCC litigation.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand the wider objectives of your clients.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and client-handling skills.
- The ability to manage complex matters effectively and work to demanding deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working as part of a growing team.
- A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
