Planning Lawyer | Top 50 UK Law Firm | London
A highly regarded Top 50 UK law firm is seeking an experienced Planning Solicitor to join its growing Planning & Environment team in London.
The team is continuing to grow and is looking for an ambitious lawyer who is keen to develop their career within a supportive environment, while gaining exposure to significant development and regeneration projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a planning lawyer to join a nationally operating, multi-disciplinary planning practice and work on high-quality, complex development matters across a broad range of sectors.
The Planning & Environment team is a genuinely multi-disciplinary practice comprising planning solicitors, environmental lawyers, advocates and planning consultants. The team works collaboratively across the development lifecycle, providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice from the inception of a proposal through to delivery.
Your work will include advising clients on a broad range of planning and development matters, including:
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on Section 106 agreements and planning obligations.
- Advising on highways agreements and other statutory agreements.
- Providing strategic advice on planning, highways and associated legislation.
- Undertaking planning due diligence in connection with property and corporate transactions.
- Advising on contentious planning matters, including planning inquiries and hearings.
- Supporting clients in relation to court challenges and judicial review proceedings.
- Advising on complex development proposals throughout the planning process, from initial conception through to implementation.
- Working alongside environmental lawyers, advocates, planning consultants and other specialist teams on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering clear, commercially focused planning advice.
- Supporting the continued growth and development of the firm's national Planning & Environment practice.
- Regeneration & Development Work
Experience of working on large-scale regeneration schemes would be particularly desirable.
The role provides an opportunity to become involved in sophisticated planning matters and major development projects, giving you the chance to build on your existing technical expertise while developing a broader understanding of the commercial and strategic considerations affecting major developments.
We are keen to hear from candidates with 4-8 years' PQE, who are looking for a high-quality opportunity within a growing national practice. You will ideally have experience across a number of the following areas:
- Section 106 agreements
- Planning obligations
- Highways agreements
- Statutory agreements
- Planning and highways law
- Planning due diligence
- Property and corporate transactions
- Planning inquiries and hearings
- Planning litigation
- Judicial review and court challenges
- Large-scale development or regeneration schemes
Whether your background is primarily in Section 106 agreements, highways, planning advisory work, contentious planning, judicial review or major development and regeneration schemes, we would be interested in speaking with you.
