A top-tier international law firm is seeking a highly qualified mid-level associate to join its Mergers & Acquisitions practice in the New York office. This role is targeted at attorneys with 4 to 6 years of significant experience advising on complex corporate transactions, particularly domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, carve-outs, and other strategic transactions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both private and public M&A, with experience representing strategic buyers and sellers, private equity sponsors, and financial institutions across a variety of industries. Candidates should be comfortable leading due diligence efforts, managing transaction timelines, and negotiating key transaction documents, including purchase agreements, merger agreements, shareholder and joint venture agreements, and other related documentation.
This position requires a sophisticated understanding of corporate law, deal structuring, and regulatory considerations relevant to M&A transactions. The ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to clients and to manage internal teams across multiple disciplines is essential.
The successful candidate will have strong academic credentials from a top law school and experience practicing at a law firm known for its M&A capabilities. Outstanding drafting, analytical, project management, and communication skills are essential, along with a demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
