Mergers & Acquisitions Associate - New York (4th-7th Year) An experienced M&A Associate with 4-7 years of practice advising on sophisticated corporate transactions across the U.S. and Canada. Currently based in the New York office of a cross-border law firm, this attorney focuses on representing public and private companies, private equity sponsors, and strategic investors in a wide variety of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and corporate reorganizations. The associate has developed a strong track record in both domestic and cross-border deal execution, often working closely with clients across the financial services, life sciences, technology, and energy sectors. With a commercially minded and detail-oriented approach, they are relied upon to manage drafting responsibilities, conduct due diligence, coordinate closing logistics, and collaborate with internal tax, regulatory, and employment teams to facilitate seamless execution. Valued for their client service orientation, strong communication skills, and ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight timelines, this associate thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys navigating complex legal and business issues for clients on high-impact transactions. Key Experience and Skills: * Extensive experience with private and public M&A transactions, including cross-border and multi-jurisdictional deals. * Proficient in drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, merger agreements, shareholder agreements, and other corporate documentation. * Familiar with private equity deal structures, due diligence processes, and corporate governance matters. * Ability to manage client relationships, supervise junior team members, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. * Deep understanding of both U.S. and Canadian corporate legal frameworks (cross-border experience strongly preferred). * Admitted to practice in New York; Canadian bar admission a plus but not required.
