A premier international law firm, widely recognized for its elite transactional practice and longstanding relationships with top-tier private equity sponsors, financial institutions, and multinational corporations, is seeking a talented Mid-Level M&A Associate (4th to 6th year) to join its New York office. The firm is known for its collaborative culture, deep industry knowledge, and strong focus on developing attorneys through hands-on deal experience and targeted mentorship.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will join a highly regarded Mergers & Acquisitions group advising on complex domestic and cross-border transactions. The role involves representing both strategic buyers and private equity sponsors in high-value public and private company mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions across a wide range of industries.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a lead associate on transaction teams, managing day-to-day deal execution, client communication, and junior associate oversight

Draft, review, and negotiate primary and ancillary transaction documents, including merger agreements, stock and asset purchase agreements, and joint venture arrangements
*
Support clients through the full deal lifecycle, from term sheet to closing, including due diligence, regulatory review, and corporate governance matters
*
Collaborate across practice groups including tax, antitrust, finance, and executive compensation to deliver integrated advice
*
Assist with business development and client relationship initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
*
JD from a top-tier law school
*
4 to 6 years of experience focused on M&A transactions at a leading law firm
*
Strong drafting, negotiation, and deal management skills
*
Experience working with both private equity and corporate clients preferred
*
Admission to the New York Bar required
*
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with high professional standards
Compensation:
