About the Firm Our client is a globally recognized, top-tier Am Law firm known for its dominant position in growth company, technology, and life sciences work, and for a corporate practice that punches at the very top of the market in terms of deal volume and client sophistication. About the Practice (New York) The firm's capital markets practice in New York sits within one of the most active corporate groups in the country, representing both issuers and underwriters on public securities offerings. The New York office gives associates access to a high volume of sophisticated capital markets work, drawing on deep relationships with both public company clients and the underwriting banks that drive the offering market - a dual perspective (issuer-side and underwriter-side) that few firms offer at comparable scale. The Role The firm is seeking associates with 2 to 6 years of capital markets and public securities experience to join its corporate practice. The role involves representing companies and underwriters in public securities offerings, along with corporate governance and SEC reporting work for public company clients. Direct client relationship management is a core expectation, not a peripheral skill. Prior experience in a law firm capital markets department and a strong academic record are preferred. Compensation ranges from $235,000 to $390,000 depending on location and experience, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, vacation/sick leave, and parental leave. Long-Term Career Benefits * Dual-perspective deal experience is a rare differentiator. Working both issuer-side and underwriter-side builds a more complete, versatile capital markets skill set than firms that lean primarily one direction * High deal volume accelerates the path to partnership. A consistently active practice means faster accumulation of the reps and client-facing experience that partnership committees look for * Direct client relationship ownership builds a portable book. Associates who manage relationships directly - rather than staying purely execution-focused - develop the origination skills valuable for partnership or lateral moves alike * Brand strength opens doors beyond the firm. The firm's name recognition in capital markets and growth company work carries significant weight for future in-house GC/deputy GC roles at public companies, as well as senior lateral opportunities All inquiries and conversations are strictly confidential.
