A leading national law firm is seeking a Commercial IT Associate or Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Commercial IT/IP team.
This is a rare opportunity to undertake high-quality commercial technology work whilst benefiting from a highly flexible working arrangement. The role is in Leeds, with a significant degree of remote working available.

The Role:
- Associate or Senior Associate position within a growing Commercial IT/IP team
- Competitive salary and excellent benefits package
- Advising on a broad range of commercial technology matters including SaaS, software licensing, outsourcing, digital transformation projects and AI-related issues
- Acting for a diverse client base including central government bodies, NHS organisations, local authorities, housing associations and private sector businesses
- Working on large-scale and strategically important technology procurement and outsourcing projects
- Opportunity to support a major multi-year outsourcing programme led by a leading partner within the team
- Advising on complex commercial contracts and technology transactions
- Exposure to data protection, cyber security and intellectual property matters
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members
- Significant client contact and responsibility from the outset
- Playing a key role in the continued growth of the practice
The Candidate:
- Qualified solicitor with 6+ years' PQE
- Strong experience advising on commercial contracts and technology-related matters
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex IT agreements and commercial arrangements
- Exposure to outsourcing projects, technology transformation programmes or digital projects
- Strong technical drafting and negotiation skills
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
- Commercially minded with the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Interest in emerging technologies, including AI
- Public sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential
- Team player with a proactive and ambitious approach
