Finance Associate - Private Credit & Sp Situations 5-7th yr

A leading global law firm is seeking a Finance Associate (5-7 years of experience) to join its Private Credit & Special Situations team in New York. The role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of complex debt financing transactions, including: Acquisition financings (particularly for sponsor-backed middle market companies) Term loan and working capital facilities Commitment letters and sponsor grids Unitranche facilities and intercreditor arrangements While the group's core clients include private credit and opportunistic debt funds, lender groups, and investment/commercial banks, the practice also regularly represents corporate borrowers and private equity sponsors. What makes this position unique is that, in addition to traditional leveraged finance transactions, the successful candidate will gain exposure to special situations, workouts, and both in- and out-of-court restructuring matters. Prior experience with distressed credit is a plus, but not required-a strong leveraged finance background paired with a genuine interest in broadening into restructuring will be highly valued. Requirements: J.D. and admission to the New York State Bar (in good standing) 5-7 years of finance experience at a top law firm Strong academic credentials Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client service skills
