Immigration Associate 1-3 years' PQE - Leeds A leading international firm is looking for an ambitious junior lawyer to join their market-leading Employment & Immigration practice based in Leeds. The role will focus specifically on business immigration matters and you will be exposed to top-quality assignments for some of the most prominent clients in the country. You will be involved in the highest calibre work with recognised leading lawyers. THE OPPORTUNITY As an Immigration Associate in this leading practice, you will handle an interesting variety of work such as: · Advising new and established UK based employers through the process of becoming a licensed sponsor. · Advising on the issue of certificates of sponsorship to migrant workers and visa applications. · Advising clients on the duties of licensed sponsors and how to ensure compliance. · Carrying out audits of immigration and HR systems to check for compliance with immigration laws and sponsorship duties. · Advising on long-term immigration requirements, such as applications for indefinite leave to remain in the UK and naturalisation as a British citizen. · Assisting with immigration aspects of corporate transactions, including licence applications following transactions. ABOUT YOU · Qualified Solicitor, ideally 1+ years' PQE · Experience gained within an established practice · A strong technical understanding of immigration law · Experience of handling business immigration issues across a wide range of cases · The ability to work efficiently within deadlines and in a challenging and collegiate environment · The ability to liaise effectively with colleagues from other relevant disciplines, providing support for complex transactions.
