Large Loss Lawyer - 2+ Years PQE | National Law Firm Our client is a leading national law firm with a highly regarded Large Loss team, providing expert legal services in the area of catastrophic injury claims and complex insurance matters. The team handles claims valued at over £350,000, with total reserves exceeding £800 million. They deal with a wide range of cases including motor, employers' liability, public liability, and product liability claims. These often involve serious injuries, such as brain, spinal, and amputation injuries, as well as substantial dependency fatality claims. We are currently looking to recruit a Large Loss Lawyer with 2+ years of PQE to join the team and manage a diverse caseload of high-value and catastrophic personal injury (PI) cases. Key Responsibilities: Manage your own caseload of complex, high-value catastrophic injury cases Assist senior lawyers in handling corporate transactional work and advisory matters Conduct initial investigations, including preparing internal strategy reports and client updates Liaise with insurers, solicitors, the police, HSE, and witnesses to gather evidence Instruct experts as needed for case progression Manage case diaries and action lists Attend court hearings as necessary and support in settlement negotiations and joint settlement meetings (JSMs) Draft reports, letters, and action plans as directed Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to their development Ensure compliance with data protection, legal procedures (CPR), and rehabilitation protocols Meet set financial and chargeable targets/KPIs Stay current with developments in personal injury law Maintain a high standard of client service and adhere to internal policies and procedures This role offers variety and requires a flexible approach, as you will be working on a broad spectrum of high-value and complex cases, with the opportunity to gain further experience in a supportive and dynamic team. About You: To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: At least 2 years' PQE, with experience managing a defendant personal injury litigation caseload (Motor, EL/PL experience preferred) Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Knowledge of CPR procedures and strong technical legal ability A proactive attitude, with an eagerness to learn and develop Previous experience with Large Loss cases is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
