Real Estate of Counsel Dentons US LLP is seeking a high-performing Counsel to join our nationally recognized Real Estate practice. Candidates must have at least 10 years of sophisticated real estate transactional experience, including substantial real estate development and re-development experience - specifically build-to-suit leases with work letters, land acquisitions, and preparing land for re/development. This role offers the opportunity to step into sophisticated, high-impact work for premier clients while benefiting from robust resources, mentorship, and cross-office collaboration throughout the Firm. You will represent developers, owners, investors, REITs, lenders, and corporate occupiers in complex transactions across asset classes, including industrial, office, retail, multifamily, mixed-use, community facilities, and data center projects. Core responsibilities will include, without limitation: Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases (including ground and triple-net), build-to-suit leases, development agreements, joint venture documentation, and related real estate contracts. Leading due diligence, including title and survey review, and zoning and land use analyses. Coordinating and closing acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and development transactions. Managing workstreams, mentoring junior lawyers, and ensuring timely, high-quality client deliverables. Position requirements Personal skills/attributes Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and thoughtful work product Strong analytical capabilities and comfort with complex real estate concepts and structures Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to outstanding client service Proven ability to manage multiple matters and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment A proactive, mentoring mindset and collaborative approach Technical skills At least 10 years of sophisticated real estate transactional experience Experience at a major law firm with a national practice is required Proven track record leading acquisitions and dispositions, build-to-suit leasing for industrial and data center assets, and negotiating ground leases and complex commercial leases, including exposure to zoning and entitlements Demonstrated experience coordinating closings, overseeing due diligence, and negotiating complex documentation Experience mentoring junior lawyers is preferred Other requirements Must be licensed to practice law and be in good standing in the state where the hired candidate will be practicing Submission of a cover letter, resume, and law school transcript BCL Legal is an equal opportunities employer.
