Industrial Disease Solicitor We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Industrial Disease Solicitor to join a leading international firm based in Cardiff or Ipswich. The team: The firm featured in The Lawyer Global Top 50, Global Investigations Review Top 100 and Global Arbitration Review Top 30. Their global Litigation team has led clients through some of the most complex disputes and challenging regulatory investigations around the world. The team consists of dynamic and forward-thinking lawyers, focused on combining the highest quality legal expertise and problem solving to provide clients with the guidance they need. Due to our continued growth, they are looking to recruit a senior solicitor to join the Disease team, based in the Ipswich or Cardiff office. Role and key responsibilities: You will be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience of dealing with disease claims including mesothelioma, asbestos related illness and noise induced hearing loss claims. Key responsibilities: Working with international clients facing claims arising from exposure to asbestos, noise, vibration and other disease claims. As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for and will run your own case load of disease claims. Supervising junior team members. Being pro-active and willing to get involved in business development and contribute to the strategic direction of the team. Providing strategic and commercial legal advice on disease cases. You will have access to sector specialists and be expected to work with these contacts across the firm to help develop growth areas for the team. We are looking for: 5 plus years' PQE experience. Experience of handling disease claims including claims arising from exposure to asbestos. Supervision / management experience as the role will require supervision of more junior team members. Strong technical skills, commercial acumen and excellent academic qualifications, ideally with a degree or equivalent, classification of 2:1 or higher. Ability to analyse complex factual situations and distill the key issues clearly and concisely and persuade others through logical reasoning. You will provide a first rate client service both internally and externally. A working knowledge of the Pre Action Protocol for Disease and Illness claims and Practice Direction 49B - Mesothelioma Claims. You will enjoy working as part of a team, supervising junior lawyers and able to manage your own matters efficiently and promptly. Great salary and benefits.
