Costs We have a new instruction from a leading national firm for an experienced Costs Lawyer to join the team. JOB DESCRIPTION: UK-Top 100 commercial law firm providing a comprehensive range of legal services from offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and London. The firm advises businesses across construction, energy & resource management, higher education and financial services, complementing the firm's market leadership within housing, local government and health & social care. The Team: The Litigation, Advisory & Regulatory department deals with a substantial volume of often high profile commercial and regulatory disputes involving both private and public law. A vacancy has arisen for a Costs Draftsman with 3+ years' experience to join the Insurance team in our Litigation, Advisory & Regulatory department. The role will involve dealing with inter parties costs issues and working for both private and public sector clients including insurers, local authorities, housing associations and NHS Resolution. What we are looking for: Internally you will be responsible for supporting a range of litigation teams in Clinical Risk, Insurance Litigation, Property Litigation and Commercial Litigation. This role will involve: · Preparing cost schedules for summary assessment · Advising on third party costs · Producing Precedents H, R and T · Negotiating costs · Considering/preparing Bills of Costs, Points of Dispute and Replies · Dealing with provisional assessments · Preparing files for detailed assessment This vacancy is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic department who are recognised market leaders for litigation work for clients who are focused on the delivery of public services.
