Job Title: Team Leader - Serious Injury (Intermediate Track)

A leading UK law firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Serious Injury Team Leader to oversee a high-performing team handling intermediate-track RTA cases, valued between £25,000 and £125,000. This is a leadership role that blends technical supervision, performance management, and coaching to ensure high standards of client service and delivery across both litigated and non-litigated matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical supervision, mentorship, and leadership to a team of Fee Earners handling serious injury claims.
Act as a technical referral point, offering guidance on strategy and case progression to ensure effective outcomes and compliance with internal frameworks.
Maintain governance of case progress through milestone tracking, file reviews, and performance monitoring.
Drive continuous performance improvement, supporting the professional growth of both newly qualified and senior team members.
Support litigation strategy, ensuring appropriate identification and escalation of complex or multi-track cases.
Collaborate with operational management to ensure alignment with business goals, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
Champion a culture of coaching, engagement, and development, ensuring the team delivers on KPIs while embracing change and innovation.
Contribute to broader leadership initiatives within the Serious Injury department, promoting best practice and improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Essential:
Extensive experience in personal injury litigation (RTA), including settlement of claims up to £125k.
Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and develop a team of legal professionals (e.g., Grade C Fee Earners).
Knowledge of relevant HR and performance management processes.
Comfortable managing team and individual KPIs and using MI/data for performance review.
Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
Experience conducting performance reviews, 1-2-1s, and personal development planning.
Desirable:
Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEx.
Experience with intermediate track litigation and case supervision.
