Associate Attorney - Insurance Defense Houston, TX Full-time | Hybrid flexibility This well respected and long-standing Texas law firm, is actively seeking a litigation associate to join their Houston office. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled attorney with experience in personal injury insurance defense, particularly in cases involving commercial policies and high-exposure matters, who is also interested in handling commercial litigation. About the Role You'll be working closely with senior members for the team on a broad range of complex cases, including: Insurance defense litigation: Construction site accidents, trucking claims, and high-value motor vehicle accident (MVA) cases, all under commercial policies Commercial litigation: A smaller but growing portion of the practice, with the opportunity to gain experience in business disputes alongside your defense work You'll be expected to take ownership of your files, handle court appearances, draft and argue motions, and work directly with clients and insurance carriers. Strong writing and deposition skills are essential. Ideal Candidate: Licensed to practice in Texas 2-5 years of relevant litigation experience preferred (insurance defense or commercial litigation) Comfortable with a fast-paced docket and high-value matters Strong analytical, communication, and case management skills Motivated, organized, and ready to take a lead on cases
