Risk Lawyer £50,000- £65,000 Flexible Location BCL Legal are delighted to be working in collaboration with this Top 100 Law Firm in their search for a Risk Lawyer. Sitting within the firms wider Risk and Best Practice Team you will support the Senior Risk Lawyer in ensuring the firms Risk and Compliance Function, is efficient and robust, in addition to advising on risk and compliance matters. You will also take ownership, of complaints made against the firm, and assume full responsibility for a team of claims handlers. The role of Risk Lawyer, plays a crucial part of the firms wider Best Practice Team and with this in mind, our client is looking for an exceptional candidate. The Role Reporting into the Senior Risk Lawyer, you will join a small team of 5 that all share the same vision, which is to ensure that members of the wider team are all aware of the importance of Risk and Compliance and more importantly take accountability for their own Legal Risk and Compliance Responsibilities. As a seasoned Risk and Compliance Lawyer, you will manage the Firm's claims and complaints in an efficient manner, and consult with wide stakeholders. You will produce managerial reports and undertake regular reviews of complaints and claims management information. You will be passionate about forming successful working relationships with Key Stakeholders of the firm and be the escalation point for complex and often challenging compliance subject matter, including escalated money laundering and sanctions matters, bribery and corruption, FATCA and FCA regulation and how it applies to the firm. In addition you will design and execute the Firm's Learning and Development programme and identify any training needs required by the team. No two days are ever the same in this role, and it's important that you can hit the ground running from day one. You will have the proven ability to lead by example and assume full ownership of compliance and best practice projects to improve compliance across the business. More about you Perhaps you are a Solicitor or Legal Executive with a proven background in Litigation looking to move away from a Fee Earning position and into an operational role, or an experienced Risk Lawyer looking for their next challenge. If you have experience working in a Legal Risk and Compliance role and have a strong working knowledge of the relevant laws regulations and codes of conduct then I would love to hear from you. Managerial/team leader experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage.
