BCL Legal are delighted to be working in collaboration with this Top 100 Law Firm in their search for a Risk and Best Practice Manager to be based at either the Bath or Oxford Office. Sitting within the firms wider Risk and Best Practice Team you will assist the Director of Risk and Best Practice and Senior Lawyer in promoting an elevated culture of compliance within the firm. The role of Risk and Best Practice Manager, plays a crucial part of the firms wider best Practice Team and with this in mind, our client is looking for an exceptional candidate. The Role Reporting into the Senior Risk Lawyer, you will join a small team of 5 that all share the same vision, which is to ensure that members of the wider team are all aware of the importance of Risk and Compliance and more importantly take accountability for their own Legal Risk and Compliance Responsibilities. As a seasoned Risk and Compliance Professional, you will have credible work experience within a legally regulated environment, preferably gained in a national law firm. You will be passionate about forming successful working relationships with Key Stakeholders of the firm and be the escalation point for complex and often challenging compliance queries. You will also identify any training needs required by the team, and will offer expert advice on a broad range of risk and compliance matters including , Anti-money laundering and client due diligence, data protection and Excel queries to name but a few. No two days are ever the same in this role, and it's important that you can hit the ground running from day one. You will have the proven ability to lead by example and assume full ownership of compliance and best practice projects to improve compliance across the business. If you are business minded and looking for a role that demands expertise in how to improve the firm's strategy, policies and procedures then this could be the role for you. With a keen eye for detail you will be expected to complete file audits, assist with the firm's Legal Aid Agency Contracts and be the go to person for all external regulatory queries such as SRA and Excel. If you have experience working in a Legal Risk and Compliance role and have a strong working knowledge of the relevant laws regulations and codes of conduct then I would love to hear from you. Managerial/team leader experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage.
