Senior Risk Lawyer London Up to £112,000 BCL are delighted to be working in collaboration with this specialist Global Law Firm in their search for a Senior Risk Lawyer. Employing over 600 Lawyers across the USA, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia this firm is forward thinking and innovative in its approach to business. The Senior Risk Lawyer role will sit within the Risk and Compliance Team in London which comprises of The Risk & Compliance Partner, together with four Risk Lawyers, an AML & Sanctions Lawyer, a Compliance Systems Manager, eight Risk & Compliance Officers, a Risk & Compliance Assistant and two Conflicts Researchers. There is also a Risk Lawyer based in Singapore in addition to two Risk & Compliance Officers in the Hong Kong office, one in Singapore and one in Australia. As the newly appointed Senior Risk Lawyer you will work in close collaboration with the Risk & Compliance Partner, together with the Firm's General Counsel who is also the COLP and MLRO. This is a legal role, and involves supporting the wider team in relation to all aspects of their roles on a global scale. Advising on matters concerning the SRA code of conduct, professional standards, AML queries and financial crime. ·Regularly updating the Professional Standards Manual and Partners' Guide; ·Drafting policies and procedures to account for regulatory changes in any of the jurisdictions in which the firm operates; ·Analysing conflict reports and advising on complex conflict-related issues; ·Reviewing data protection policies and procedures on at least an annual basis and updating as necessary and assisting with data protection queries and processes; ·Reviewing supplier terms, particularly from a data protection perspective; ·Writing and amending terms of engagement with counsel, foreign lawyers and experts; ·Updating the firm's risk register; ·Resolving escalated conflicts queries, including US conflicts rules; About you To be considered for this role you will: ·Have the ability to demonstrate a credible work history as a Qualified lawyer (England & Wales), with 6 - 10 years' PQE. ·Have a minimum of three years' legal compliance experience gained within an international law firm. ·Have the ability to demonstrate dealing with confidentiality and ethics. ·Have a working knowledge of data protection, anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption. In addition to corporate tax evasion, anti-modern slavery rules and application. ·Demonstrate excellent written legal skills, including the ability to draft and review policies, procedures, terms of engagement and contracts with third parties. ·Demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of relevant areas of law and procedure, especially contract and tort. ·Have previous experience of training on all aspects of Risk and Compliance If you are interested in discussing the role, please contact Laura Baron at BCL Legal for further details and a full job specification.
