A vault 200 AmLaw firm are looking to appoint an attorney to join their bankruptcy and restructuring team in their New York office. This firm is highly regarded as having one of the best bankruptcy and restructuring practices across the US having received acclaim by Chambers. This Firm hires strategically allowing their lean team to develop much faster than other firms at the same level with attorneys reaching their 7th year being eligible for partnership track - a great way to rapidly accelerate your legal career. The level of work this firm would expose you to is extremely sophisticated ranging from catastrophic corporate loss to security enforcement actions. This firm would provide you with hands-on experience from day one with great potential to expand on your solid bankruptcy expertise whilst working in a supportive and collaborative environment. This role offers you a balanced performance framework, with a target of 1,800 billable hours and 150 hours allocated to pro bono work, marketing, client engagement, and business development. When you surpass their billable hours target, you have the chance to earn additional achievement-based rewards, resulting in a bonus structure that is competitive with the wider legal market. What your day-to-day will look like: - Work within a leading dispute resolution and restructuring team handling complex and high-profile cases. - Advise a diverse range of clients on matters such as insolvency, restructuring, and dispute resolution matters. - Support work involving Chapter 11 reorganisations, insolvency-related litigation, and mass tort and catastrophic loss cases - Collaborate closely with experienced and highly regarded lawyers. - Receive direct exposure to senior team members and complex client matters. - Work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and high-performing environment enabling you to gain significant hands-on experience from the get-go - Benefit from strong opportunities for accelerated career development and progression. - Ideal for a motivated and ambitious individual looking to take ownership of their development and make an impact. About you You will have: - Ability to handle sophisticated matters, managing multiple significant engagements simultaneously, and working effectively as part of a collaborative team. - Strong analytical, writing, advocacy, and client-management skills are essential. - Substantial experience with bankruptcy court practice, including drafting and arguing motions, participating in court hearings, and managing contested matters. - Significant restructuring experience in Chapter 11 cases, representing debtors and creditors, and bankruptcy proceedings. - Outstanding academic credentials and excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Comparable law firm experience is a requirement with any clerkship experience being advantageous - Be admitted to the New York Bar.
