The firm
A Chambers-ranked Corporate M&A practice is seeking a 3rd-4th Year Associate to join its growing team as it launches its new New York office. The team is a Chambers-ranked M&A practice that is currently expanding and launching a new office in New York. They have around 14 attorneys in the group from firms such as Davis Polk and Milbank and, despite their size, are handling a steady flow of sophisticated transactions, from tens of millions to around $400m, across sectors including technology, real estate, and construction. Associates can expect exposure to sophisticated M&A matters regularly valued between $200 million and $400 million, while benefiting from direct partner access, significant responsibility, and meaningful client interaction from an early stage. What sets this opportunity apart is the firm's commitment to sustainable success. Built on the belief that exceptional lawyers should be able to maintain fulfilling lives outside of work, the team offers a 1,650-hour billable target, with 1,750 hours required to achieve the full discretionary bonus. Combined with hybrid working, an entrepreneurial culture, and a clear path for progression, it presents a compelling alternative to the traditional BigLaw model without compromising on the quality of work
