Senior Planning Solicitor | 6+ PQE | Leeds | International law firm
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Solicitor to join a highly regarded, international law firm in Leeds, working as part of a nationally recognised and well-resourced planning team.
This is a team consistently instructed on market-leading development and infrastructure projects, acting for an enviable client base including major developers, housebuilders, investors and public sector bodies. The quality of work is exceptional, with a strong pipeline of high-profile mandates across the UK.
The role
You will play a central role in advising on a broad range of planning and development matters, with the opportunity to work closely alongside colleagues in real estate, construction and environmental teams on large-scale, often multidisciplinary projects.
Your work will include:
· Advising on strategic land promotion and large-scale developments
· Negotiating and drafting section 106 agreements, highways agreements and related documentation
· Providing planning support on real estate transactions and funding arrangements
· Advising on planning appeals, judicial review and enforcement matters
· Engaging directly with clients and stakeholders to deliver commercially focused solutions
There is a clear platform here for someone looking to take on greater responsibility, with opportunities to lead on matters, supervise junior lawyers and play a role in business development.
The candidate
· Qualified solicitor with 6+ years' PQE in planning law
· Experience gained at a recognised regional, national or international firm
· Strong technical expertise combined with a commercial, solutions-driven approach
· Confident managing client relationships and working as part of a wider project team
· An interest in contributing to the continued growth of the practice
The opportunity
This firm offers a progressive and supportive culture, with a clear commitment to career development. The Leeds office is a key part of the firm's international platform, offering access to high-quality work without the need to be London-based.
You can expect:
· Exposure to complex, high-value and often nationally significant projects
· A collaborative and well-integrated team environment
· Clear progression prospects within a growing practice
· Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package
· Flexible and hybrid working options
