Conveyancer / MLRO (Dual Role) - Wirral Overview An established and growing legal practice on the Wirral is seeking an experienced Conveyancer / Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to join its team. This is a key dual-role position combining fee-earning residential conveyancing work with responsibility for overseeing and maintaining the firm's anti-money laundering (AML) compliance framework. Key Responsibilities Conveyancing Duties: Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion Handle sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, and leasehold transactions Provide clear, practical advice to clients and maintain strong client relationships Liaise with agents, lenders, and other solicitors to ensure smooth progression of transactions Ensure files are managed efficiently and in line with regulatory and internal standards MLRO Duties: Act as the firm's appointed MLRO and oversee AML compliance Develop, implement, and maintain AML policies, controls, and procedures Review and assess suspicious activity reports (SARs) and determine appropriate action Ensure compliance with current AML legislation and regulatory requirements Deliver internal training and guidance on AML and compliance matters Conduct file audits and risk assessments Act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies where required Requirements Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or experienced non-qualified conveyancer with a strong track record Proven experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently Solid understanding of AML regulations and compliance obligations Previous MLRO or compliance experience preferred (or readiness to step into the role) Strong attention to detail and risk awareness Excellent communication and organisational skills What's on Offer Competitive salary and benefits package Supportive and collaborative working environment Opportunity to shape and lead compliance within the firm Career progression prospects
