An established, full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join at Director level and lead the continued growth of its private client disputes practice.
This is a senior appointment for a commercially minded litigator with the credibility to advise on high-value, complex estate and trust disputes, and the ambition to shape strategy, develop people, and build a market-leading offering.
The Role
Lead and grow a contentious probate practice, setting strategy and driving performance
Advise on complex and high-value disputes, including:
Will and inheritance challenges
Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
Trust disputes, proprietary estoppel, and executor/beneficiary disputes
Act as a trusted adviser to clients, referrers, and professional contacts
Play a key role in business development, profile-raising, and cross-referral activity
Mentor and develop junior lawyers and contribute to firm-wide leadership
About You
A senior Contentious Probate Solicitor (typically 8+ PQE, though quality of experience is key)
Strong technical expertise with a track record of handling complex, high-value matters
Commercial, strategic, and confident working with business owners, families, and HNW clients
Proven or demonstrable appetite for business development and team leadership
Collaborative, approachable, and aligned with a people-focused culture
