Public Procurement Lawyer l Market leading team l Manchester
An outstanding opportunity for an experienced Public Procurement and State Aid Lawyer to join a leading international law firm with a thriving Competition, EU and Trade (CEUT) team. The role offers the chance to work on high-profile matters across multiple sectors, advising both public and private sector clients on some of the most significant procurement, subsidy control and trade law issues in the market today.
The Opportunity
This is a pivotal time to join a highly regarded CEUT practice as it expands its presence across the UK and Europe.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with senior specialists, gaining exposure to strategic, cross-border projects while developing a strong profile in the market.
As part of the CEUT team, you will:
Advise on all aspects of public procurement, including the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
Provide guidance on UK subsidy control and EU State aid, with the opportunity to expand your expertise in these areas.
Support clients in both contentious and non-contentious matters, including procurement challenges, subsidy investigations, and trade-related issues.
Deliver risk-based, commercially informed advice in complex and often novel situations.
Collaborate with colleagues across the CEUT group on cross-jurisdictional projects.
Contribute to business development initiatives, thought leadership, and client relationship management.
About You
Qualified lawyer with 3+ PQE in public procurement, State aid or subsidy control law.
Strong knowledge of the key UK procurement regulations, with an appetite to expand expertise in UK subsidy control and EU State aid.
Excellent research and analytical skills, with a pragmatic, risk-based approach to advice.
Commercially aware, proactive, and confident in engaging with clients.
