Commercial Lawyer (1-5 PQE) A well-regarded leading North West commercial firm is looking to recruit a Commercial Lawyer with between 1 and 5 years' PQE to join its established and highly respected Commercial team in Manchester city centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who is keen to develop a broad skill set across commercial contracts, IP, IT and data protection, while working closely with experienced partners and specialists in a supportive, professional environment. The Opportunity The Commercial team advises on a wide range of commercial agreements, from straightforward trading arrangements through to complex, high-value projects, acting for clients across multiple market sectors. You will be exposed to a varied and interesting workload and will have the chance to work alongside specialists in IP, IT and data protection, allowing you to build genuine depth and versatility in your practice. Key Responsibilities Advising on a wide range of commercial agreements, including: Manufacturing, supply and procurement of goods and services, Distribution arrangements (agents, distributors and resellers), Outsourcing and joint venture agreements Supporting clients on data protection compliance, including: Advising on obligations under data protection legislation, Assisting with lawful collection, use and protection of personal data Advising on e-commerce matters, including: Website terms and conditions and hosting agreements, Compliance with e-commerce regulations and online sales requirements and Agreements relating to payment services, analytics and affiliate networks Assisting with IP-related agreements, such as: Brand licensing, patent and know-how licences, Research and development agreements, Sponsorship, merchandising and franchise arrangements and Advertising compliance advice Advising on a broad range of IT contracts, including: Software development and implementation, Software licensing and SaaS arrangements, IT hosting, outsourcing, support and maintenance agreements and Service level agreements (SLAs) About You Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) with 1-5 years' PQE Experience in commercial contracts, with exposure to IP, IT or data protection being advantageous Strong drafting and negotiation skills Commercially aware, proactive and keen to build long-term client relationships Looking to develop your career within a high-quality, collaborative team This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious commercial solicitor looking to work on broad and intellectually stimulating commercial work across specialist areas including IP, IT and data protection with clear scope for career progression and skills development.
