Commercial Technology Associate
A leading international law firm is seeking a Commercial Technology Associate to join its highly regarded and fast-growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer looking to specialise in technology, outsourcing, and emerging technologies such as AI, working on complex, high-value matters for a global client base.
The Opportunity
This is a standout role for a commercial lawyer keen to develop a long-term career in technology law. The team is recognised for advising on cutting-edge projects across sectors including financial services, fintech, and large-scale IT and outsourcing arrangements.
You will gain exposure to market-leading work, collaborating with colleagues across commercial, regulatory, and corporate teams, while building a strong foundation in one of the fastest-evolving areas of legal practice.
Key Responsibilities
As a Commercial Technology Associate, your work will include:
- Advising clients on a broad range of technology, IT and outsourcing contracts
- Drafting and negotiating agreements relating to cloud services, AI systems, and digital transformation projects
- Providing guidance on technology-related regulatory issues, particularly within the financial services sector
- Supporting on the technology aspects of corporate transactions, including M&A deals
- Working closely with clients, managing relationships and delivering practical, commercial advice
- Contributing to business development initiatives, including client seminars, thought leadership, and internal training
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a UK-qualified solicitor with 1-3 years' PQE
- Have experience in commercial contracts, ideally with exposure to IT, technology, or outsourcing agreements
- Demonstrate a strong interest in emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence
- Be confident working directly with clients and building long-term relationships
- Show enthusiasm for business development and career progression
