A leading UK law firm is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Associate or Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Government & Infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented lawyer looking to develop their career in a specialist practice focused on high-profile public sector and infrastructure projects.
This role offers exposure to complex, interesting work that directly contributes to the delivery of regeneration schemes, housing developments, and innovative public services across the UK. The team advises both public bodies and private sector organisations, providing a strong mix of advisory and transactional work in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
As a solicitor within the Government & Infrastructure team, you will be involved in a broad range of non-contentious commercial and public law matters, including:
- Advising on major regeneration and development projects, including housing schemes, town centre redevelopments, and large-scale joint ventures
- Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including collaboration agreements, service arrangements, and outsourcing contracts
- Supporting clients on alternative service delivery models and innovative public-private partnerships
- Providing advice on public procurement law, including procurement processes, compliance, and risk management
- Advising on subsidy control and wider public law issues affecting infrastructure and regeneration projects
- Working closely with both public sector organisations and private sector developers, investors, and service providers
- Contributing to the development of client relationships and supporting senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters
About You
- Qualified solicitor 1 - 3 PQE
- Experience in commercial law, ideally with exposure to public sector or infrastructure work
- A solid understanding (or strong interest) in public procurement and public law
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills across a range of commercial agreements
- The ability to communicate complex legal advice clearly, confidently, and pragmatically
