In-House Data Protection Lawyer

The Role: The In-House Legal team is bubbly and close-knit, and they are looking for an experienced Data Protection Lawyer to join them in their London office. Reporting into a supportive leader who will encourage and support your ongoing development, you can expect to gain exposure to a broad range of work, including: reviewing commercial contracts from a data protection angle & advise on key issues, identify & manage risk, conduct DPIAs, investigate & respond to data breaches, and deliver training/best practices to the business. You will also play a key role in various projects, as well as lead on implementing and improving processes and technology to improve efficiencies and drive growth. This is a vital role within a Legal team seen as an intrinsic and valuable part of the business. Therefore, you will build and develop business relationships internally & externally with a range of key stakeholders. About You: · As a guide, this role would be suitable for an England & Wales qualified lawyer with 7+ years PQE · Experience of data protection is essential, although general commercial lawyers with experience and interest in data protection are encouraged to apply · While an in-house background is preferable, applications are open to private practice lawyers · Comfortable supporting & supervising junior lawyers · Able to build strong business relationships What's on offer: Salary: £75-85k, depending on experience Benefits: 25 days annual leave (plus BHs + birthday off), enhanced pension, private healthcare, regular social events, etc. Flexibility: 4 days per week in London office (flex on that when needed), flexible working hours, and a genuine focus on work/life balance.
