COMMERCIAL & PROCUREMENT SOLICITOR - NEWCASTLE - NQ-5PQE A leading international law firm renowned for its excellence and innovation, is seeking a dedicated commercial and public procurement solicitor to join its Newcastle office. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience ranging from newly qualified to five years PQE. Imagine being part of a dynamic environment that thrives on the forefront of high-profile, media-attracting projects. The firm boasts a robust public sector clientele, with a focus on healthcare, infrastructure, technology, and central government contracts, alongside a burgeoning private sector presence. As a key member of this ambitious team, you will be delivering top-tier services to both public and private sector clients. The role demands a collaborative spirit, as it involves working seamlessly across national offices with some of the sector's most respected legal minds. Ideal candidates will possess a strong foundation in commercial law, with a particular flair for negotiating and drafting diverse contractual arrangements. A genuine interest or background in health and public sector contracting will be highly regarded, as will familiarity with public procurement law or subsidy control law. However, a commitment to developing expertise in these areas is equally valued, with comprehensive training provided. Responsibilities include managing a range of commercial and procurement work, advising on public procurement structures and processes, and contributing to business development initiatives. The role encompasses drafting and negotiating contracts, project management, and offering commercially astute risk advice. The chosen solicitor will engage in: - Diverse commercial contracting in sectors such as health, government, and utilities. - Management of contracts for large-scale projects under procurement law. - Advising on commercial joint ventures and PPPs. - Supporting procurement litigation matters. - Providing general contractual and commercial advice to public and private sector clients. The role extends to managing personal caseloads, fostering client relationships, leading marketing efforts, and participating in networking activities. Continuous professional development is encouraged, with the expectation to exceed CPD requirements and contribute to the firm's knowledge base.
