Manage a caseload of defended disrepair claims (mainly issued claims, but with occasional involvement in pre-litigation matters).
Assist with periodic client reporting, as agreed with clients.
Supervise junior paralegals on pre-action disrepair claims.
Contribute to the team's business development efforts and initiatives to build and expand client relationships.
Skills and Experience Required:
Familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules and experience in volume litigation (experience in disrepair claims is advantageous but not essential).
Commercial awareness of the factors influencing volume defendant litigation.
Experience with case management and an understanding of advocacy and negotiation.
Strong organisational skills, including time and diary management (with accurate time recording).
Legal research skills and the ability to analyse complex issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with sound judgment and the ability to work autonomously.
A flexible, methodical approach with the ability to adapt and prioritise effectively.
About the Team and Organisation:
This is an opportunity to join a leading independent law firm, recognized for its expertise across various sectors, including business, healthcare, the public sector, and private individuals. With offices across the UK and a team of over 500 professionals, the firm fosters a culture of collaboration and growth.
They are passionate about promoting employee wellbeing, diversity, equality, and inclusion, with dedicated committees supporting ongoing initiatives. The firm believes that diversity strengthens teams, enhances client service, and contributes to a positive work environment.
The firm is committed to providing a supportive, inclusive environment where professional development is a priority. They offer a range of benefits designed to support both current and future needs, including:
An enhanced pension scheme with employer-matched contributions of up to 6%.
25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), increasing with service. You can also purchase up to 5 extra days.
