FAMILY SOLICITOR - MANAGING ASSOCIATE 6+ PQE - NEWCASTLE An experienced Family Solicitor is required to join a national law firm as a Managing Associate. The successful candidate will work closely with the Partners in the matrimonial team to support the delivery of a comprehensive range of legal services. The role involves assisting clients across the North East region with complex and sensitive family law matters, providing a professional, empathetic, and client-focused service. Key Responsibilities include: Managing a varied and complex caseload of family law matters, including divorce, financial remedies (including high-net-worth cases), private children matters, cohabitation disputes, and nuptial agreements. Providing clear, practical legal advice and take detailed client instructions tailored to individual circumstances and varying levels of complexity. Drafting high-quality legal documentation, including pleadings and agreements, in line with client objectives. Representing clients in negotiations with litigants in person and other professionals to secure favourable outcomes. Conducting advocacy, attending court hearings, and ensuring compliance with court procedures and deadlines. Building and maintaining strong client relationships, contributing significantly to business development through networking and training initiatives. Supporting the growth of the team and supervise junior team members, including trainees, paralegals, and legal support staff. The ideal candidate: You will ideally have a minimum of 6 years' PQE, with significant experience across the full spectrum of family and matrimonial matters, including advocacy. A proven track record of advising on complex matters concerning divorce, financial remedy, and private Children Act cases. Strong legal knowledge with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. The ability to deliver accurate work under pressure and to tight deadlines, while maintaining a flexible and practical approach. Significant business development experience, with a demonstrable ability to generate new client work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a clear and logical approach. Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage workloads independently and effectively. Resilience, sound professional judgement, and strong problem-solving abilities. A proactive, motivated, and commercially aware approach, together with effective file management, strong IT skills, and financial discipline.
