CHARITIES SOLICITOR - NEWCASTLE An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced charities lawyer to join a forward-thinking, commercially minded North East-based law firm in their Newcastle office. The Sports, Education and Charities team is a dynamic practice group that supports a wide range of clients regionally and nationally across the sports, education and charity sectors. The team is nationally recognised and advises on a broad spectrum of matters, from day-to-day legal support through to strategically significant projects, including mergers, collaborations and restructures. The successful candidate will have experience in charity law and a good working knowledge of: - The legal structures of charities and not-for-profit organisations - The role of the Charity Commission - Constitutional, regulatory and governance matters - Mergers and restructuring - Fundraising - Trading and commercial agreements - Strong client relationship and people management skills Experience working with clients in, or familiarity with, the sports and/or education sectors would be advantageous. You will ideally have: - 4+ years PQE, with strong technical expertise in charity law and a strong commitment to delivering excellent client service The role requires a collaborative team player who can integrate into a busy and active team, contribute to business development activities, and work proactively with clients and colleagues. The successful individual will take ownership of matters and focus on delivering practical, commercial solutions.
