COMMERCIAL AND DATA PROTECTION SOLICITOR - HEALTH - NEWCASTLE - 3+PQE
A leading UK law firm is seeking an ambitious Associate to join its highly regarded Health Commercial team in Newcastle.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of commercial matters for clients across the health sector. The role offers significant client responsibility and exposure, including opportunities to travel, while providing the support of a collaborative and experienced team.
Ranked Tier 1 in Legal 500 for Health work, the team advises NHS bodies and independent sector organisations across a broad range of contractual, procurement, governance, regulatory and public law matters.
Its clients include NHS Integrated Care Boards, NHS Trusts, primary care providers, NHS England, the Care Quality Commission, private healthcare providers, and health technology developers and adopters.
You will be responsible for a varied caseload including:
- Drafting contractual terms and conditions, including framework agreements, call-off terms, bespoke contracts, licensing arrangements and data protection documentation.
- Advising on innovative contracting models, including joint ventures, alliance agreements and collaboration arrangements, together with associated governance structures.
- Supporting the wider team with commercial and regulatory matters for NHS and independent sector clients.
- Assisting with NHS mergers and acquisitions.
- Supporting public procurement processes and preparing procurement documentation.
- Advising health technology providers, including NHS organisations and private providers, on commercial and regulatory matters, including information law.
- Supporting business development strategies across the team and wider business group.
- Building strong relationships with clients and intermediaries and representing the firm at meetings and events.
- Working with colleagues across the wider office to raise the profile of the business through networking, corporate social responsibility and other initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining the Associate's own client and intermediary relationships.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualfiied Solicitor or equivalent.
- Have proven experience advising on commercial law matters. Experience within the health sector would be advantageous, although other relevant commercial experience will be considered.
- Have excellent communication, organisation and research skills, and strong attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet demanding client deadlines.
