COMMERCIAL SOLICITOR (HEALTH) - NEWCASTLE - NQ-5 PQE A leading national law firm is seeking an ambitious Solicitor to join its highly regarded Health Commercial team, based in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial lawyer to work with a broad range of health sector clients on complex and innovative matters, while benefiting from significant client exposure, responsibility, and career development within a supportive and collaborative environment. The Health Commercial team is recognised nationally for its expertise in advising NHS bodies, independent healthcare organisations, health technology providers, and life sciences businesses. The team advises on a wide range of commercial, procurement, governance, regulatory, public law, and information law matters. With a strong national presence and a collaborative culture, the team works closely with major healthcare organisations, including NHS bodies, healthcare providers, regulators, technology suppliers, and health-tech innovators. You will advise on a broad range of commercial and technology-related matters within the healthcare sector, including: - Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, framework agreements, call-off arrangements, licensing agreements, and data protection documentation. - Advising on innovative contractual structures, including joint ventures, alliance agreements, and collaborative partnerships. - Supporting clients on a variety of commercial and regulatory issues affecting healthcare organisations. - Advising on information law and data protection matters, including data sharing arrangements, international data transfers, research projects, privacy compliance, and the use of data within health technology initiatives. - Developing and maintaining strong client relationships. - Supporting business development initiatives, client presentations, and networking activities. - Contributing to the wider profile of the firm through market engagement and corporate social responsibility activities. The ideal candidate will have: - Experience advising on commercial contracts, technology matters, and/or data protection issues. - Healthcare sector experience would be advantageous, although candidates from other sectors with relevant expertise will also be considered. - Excellent communication, drafting, organisational, and research skills. - Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. - A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships. - A proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership of client work. - An interest in business development and client relationship management. - Enthusiasm for learning and developing expertise in new and emerging areas of law.
