Corporate Solicitor

CORPORATE SOLICITOR - 1+PQE NEWCASTLE A highly regarded and growing Corporate team is looking to appoint a Corporate Solicitor at around 1 PQE to join its Newcastle-based practice. The team works closely with private investors, business owners and management teams across a broad range of corporate transactions, providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a varied and high-quality caseload, alongside experienced corporate lawyers involved in significant transactions across the North East and beyond. Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate, the successful candidate will: Assist with a broad range of corporate transactional matters from initial instruction through to completion. Have direct contact with clients and develop strong, trusted client relationships. Ideally bring their own good-quality corporate workload, while continuing to develop their own client base. Work closely with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver a joined-up service to clients. Take an active role in business development, networking and profile-raising activities within the Corporate team and across the wider firm. Have the opportunity to take ownership of matters and develop their technical and commercial expertise. The role offers exposure to a diverse range of transactions, including: Business and share acquisitions and disposals Management buy-outs and buy-ins Corporate refinancing and investment matters Advising investee companies Group reorganisations Share buybacks Joint ventures and shareholder arrangements Private equity and investment transactions General corporate and company law matters The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with previous experience of working on corporate transactions, particularly business and share acquisitions and disposals. The successful candidate will demonstrate: - Experience of dealing with corporate transactions and a sound understanding of the M&A process. - The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a collaborative team. - Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload effectively. - Commercial awareness and a practical approach to client advice. - Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accountability. - The ability to communicate confidently with clients and build effective working relationships. - A commitment to delivering first-class client care. - An ambition to develop their career within a successful and expanding Corporate team. - A willingness to contribute to business development and networking activities.
